Boise SEO: Three Budgets for SEO in Boise, Idaho, and What Each One Buys

Updated November 2026 · Written and maintained by the Progression Agency strategy team

Boise SEO is easier to judge when the prices come first, so this page opens with them. The table below uses published US market bands, not a Progression rate card, and describes each budget by the work it buys in the Treasure Valley rather than by any ranking it might reach. Owners in Boise, Meridian, Nampa, Star and Kuna, and trade firms following the chip fab work, can match the page list to their own business. No budget here comes with a promise of results. Progression is based in New York, works with Boise clients remotely, and offers on-site sessions on request.

The short answer Three budgets cover most owners in the Treasure Valley: one location, several towns, or several lines of work and a market beyond the valley. Each is set from a published US band and described by the pages it pays for, not by a ranking. Contractors have one extra item at every budget, the registration number the Idaho Contractors Board says to display. None of these budgets promises a ranking, a call count or a date.

Population figures are COMPASS’s 2026 estimates and labor force figures are the Boise Valley Economic Partnership’s, each attributed where it appears. Micron’s plans are the company’s own statement. The contractor registration points are what the Idaho Contractors Board says in its FAQ and what Idaho Code 54-5204 says, read in November 2026. Nothing here is legal advice.

Boise SEO budgets at a glance

These are published US price bands (market figures, not a Progression rate card), read in October 2026 from Semrush, SEO.com, Ahrefs, SE Ranking, WebFX, seoClarity, Shopify and Clutch. They describe what the work costs, and none of them promises a result.
BudgetWho it suitsWhat it buysWhat it leaves out
Budget one: $500 to $3,000 a monthOne location, such as a single shop or a roofer with one yardOne site, one business profile, one service area and a routine for reviewsContent programs, link outreach and more than one town
Budget two: $1,000 to $5,000 a monthA small firm serving several towns, with jobs from Boise to Nampa and CaldwellTown pages written from real jobs, plus the one-location workA market beyond the valley, and several lines of work at once
Budget three: $2,500 to $20,000 a monthSeveral lines of work, or a market beyond the valley, including trades chasing fab workCapability pages, documents a project manager wants and a wider programAnything that is not written down in a scope

These figures describe the work a budget can pay for. None of them promises a ranking, a call count or a date. The ranges overlap because the published bands overlap, and the choice between them is a question of scope.

Owners who search for SEO in Boise are usually asking what a monthly budget buys. An answer in pages and places is easier to judge than one in promises. A business with a Boise, ID address and one location starts at budget one.

Where Progression’s packages sit on the ladder

Our SEO services pricing page lists three packages in the table headed Our packages. They are shown apart from the market bands above.

Progression’s SEO packages, as listed
PackageMonthly priceWhat it usually includes
Foundation$1,500Technical audit, profile management, a reviews process and two substantial pages a month
Program$3,400Four to six pages a month, technical remediation, local press and supplier links, and CRM reporting
ScaleFrom $7,200Original research, digital PR, multi-location or ecommerce architecture and a dedicated strategist

Why a budget can stretch across the Treasure Valley

This is scope arithmetic, not a ranking claim. A budget is spent per page, per place and per trade, and the valley’s list of places can be counted. COMPASS, the regional planning association, estimated in April 2026 that Ada and Canyon counties together hold 876,760 people, an increase of 150,000 since the 2020 Census, and 915,940 with Boise and Elmore counties added.

The Boise Valley Economic Partnership’s workforce page gives a labor force of 457,514 in 2025 and average yearly wages in 2024 of $70,582 in Ada County and $51,909 in Canyon County. We attribute those to the Partnership and do not set its population figure beside COMPASS’s, since the two use different geographies.

Search engine optimization in Boise buys no city-specific price break, and we make no such claim. What the valley offers is a list of places you can count and cost. Boise search engine optimization that stays inside one town needs fewer pages than work that reaches four.

876,760: Ada and Canyon. COMPASS's April 2026 estimate for the two counties combined, up 150,000 since the 2020 Census.
14%: Kuna and Star. Each grew by 14% in one year, against 3% for Meridian and Nampa.
131%: Star since 2020. The greatest percentage increase since the 2020 Census, as COMPASS reports it.
5,160: Caldwell, 2025 to 2026. The most individuals gained in the past year, ahead of Kuna and Meridian.
4,810: Kuna, 2025 to 2026. People added in the same year.
4,730: Meridian, 2025 to 2026. People added in the same year.

Star, Kuna and the towns still filling in

COMPASS says Kuna and Star each grew 14% in one year, and that Star has grown 131% since the 2020 Census. A new subdivision means new searchers who do not yet have a plumber. That is our reasoning, not a finding. Build a town page only where you really work, and never use a false address.

The towns that barely moved

COMPASS says unincorporated areas and some smaller cities, such as Greenleaf and Notus, remained essentially unchanged between 2025 and 2026. Do not buy pages for a place because it is on a list.

Budget one: $500 to $3,000 a month for one location

Local SEO in Boise at this budget means one site, one profile and one service area. The money goes into pages and routines that a single location can keep up, not into a content program.

Local SEO in Boise, Idaho for a roofer is a good illustration, since the page list is countable. The cards show it: a home page, four service pages and one service area page, with a routine for asking for reviews. Our local SEO services page covers the location work.

Home: The home page. Who the business is, where it works and how to reach it.
One: Service page: repair. What a repair involves and what it costs to ask.
Two: Service page: replacement. The process from estimate to finish.
Three: Service page: gutters. What is covered and when to call.
Four: Service page: inspections. What an inspection checks.
Area: One service area page. The towns served, with real job notes.

At the low end of the range, something has to fall away, and it is usually the number of service pages. Choose the services that bring the most profit first and add the rest later.

What does a roofer’s service area page say?

Which towns are served, and a job note or photo from each. A list of towns with no job behind it is a template.

  • The towns served, named only where the business really works.
  • One job note for each town, written from the job.
  • A photo from a real job, with permission.
  • The phone number and the registration number.

What this budget leaves out

A content program, link outreach and more than one town, stated as scope. Those belong to the next budget.

Budget two: $1,000 to $5,000 a month for several towns

SEO services in Boise at this level fit a small firm whose jobs run from Boise to Nampa and Caldwell. The money pays for town pages written from real jobs.

Small business SEO in Boise is mostly that: each page has something true to say about a town. See SEO services pricing for how fees are built.

Boise SEO services at this budget still leave out a wider program. They cover the one-location work plus the towns you can prove.

Why does budget two start at $1,000?

Because that is where the published small business band begins, and it covers more than one location’s work. The line between budgets is a scope line, not a magic number.

  • Town pages written from jobs in Boise, Meridian and Nampa.
  • A page for Caldwell when jobs there justify it.
  • Job notes kept by the person who did the work.
  • A profile that lists the real service area.

Which town page gets written first

Sort last year’s invoices by town and by margin, and start with what you can prove. A generic list of towns is not a plan.

A page per town, only with something to say

Photos and job notes from that town make a page. A swapped name is not a page. Our SEO company by city page explains the difference between a local page and a template.

Budget three: $2,500 to $20,000 a month for trades chasing fab work

Micron says on its Idaho expansion page that it plans to invest in two leading-edge high-volume fabs in Boise, expected to create over 17,000 new jobs. That is the company’s own statement of its plans. We say nothing about how Micron or its contractors choose suppliers.

A mechanical, electrical, process piping, staffing or housing firm has a different reader from a roofer: a general contractor or a project manager, not a homeowner. The pages that matter are capability pages, safety and qualification documents and project types, without named clients. Our construction SEO page covers the trade.

An ecommerce SEO program in Boise fits this budget for a different kind of firm, one that sells beyond the valley.

Pages a project manager opens before calling

An illustrative list: a scope of work, crews, equipment, a registration number and a route to request an insurance certificate.

  • A scope of work page for each service line.
  • A crews and equipment page, written plainly.
  • The registration number, where a project manager can find it.
  • A route to request an insurance certificate.
  • Project types, without named clients.

Why do trades chasing fab work need a different page?

Because the reader changes. A homeowner wants reassurance; a project manager wants a scope, a crew and a document. The same page cannot serve both.

Other firms that belong on this rung

A company selling nationally from Boise, since the band fits national work. We list no industries from the Partnership because its target page could not be read.

The contractor registration number on your pages

This section applies at every budget. The Idaho Contractors Board’s FAQ says the Contractor Registration Act requires registration, not licensure, and that once registered you must prominently display your registration number, within 60 days of registration, at your place of business and jobsite, and on all advertising, contracts, building permits, letterheads, purchase orders and subcontracts. Idaho Code 54-5204 makes it unlawful to engage in the business of, or hold yourself out as, a contractor in Idaho without being registered.

Not: Registered, not licensed. The Board's FAQ says the Act requires registration, not licensure.
60: Days to display. The number goes up within 60 days of registration.
All: On all advertising. The Board lists advertising, contracts, permits, letterheads, purchase orders and subcontracts.
Ask: How it reaches a site. The FAQ does not say website, so ask the Board or counsel.

The display wording is in the Board’s FAQ and not in 54-5204 as we read it, so we attribute it to the Board. The FAQ says all advertising and does not say website. This is what the Board says, so ask the Board or counsel how it applies to you. As a practical suggestion, not a statement of what the law requires, put the number in the site footer and on the contact page.

Why does registration sit outside the ladder?

Because it applies at every budget. A contractor at budget one has the same display question as one at budget three.

Registered, not licensed

The Board’s wording is registration. Write registered on the page, and do not write licensed unless you hold a separate license. Ask the Board.

If the number is missing or lapsed

The Board’s FAQ lists consequences for acting as a contractor without a current registration: no building permits, no lien rights and no contract rights, and a misdemeanor with a fine of no more than $1,000 or county jail for up to six months, or both. We state no renewal period and give no advice on a particular case.

What none of these budgets promises

Each budget pays for work, and the work has a scope that can be written down. Nothing in a monthly fee guarantees what a search engine will do with it.

  • A ranking for any search.
  • A number of calls or form entries in any month.
  • A date by which any page will appear.
  • A result that a different budget would not also reach.
  • A comparison with any other city’s prices.

Why does the ladder stop at scope?

Because scope is the one thing a firm can promise and prove: these pages, in these places, by these people.

Reading a monthly report at any budget

A report at any budget should say what was done, not just what happened. The list below is a test of a report’s honesty.

  • The pages published or changed, by name.
  • The profile changes made.
  • The review requests sent and replies written.
  • The town pages planned and the job notes they wait for.
  • The next month’s page list.

What if a month shows no change?

Then the report should still show the work done and the next list. A flat month is not proof that the scope was wrong.

Boise SEO companies at each budget: what the proposal should name

Boise SEO companies differ less by name than by what a proposal says at your budget. The table says what to look for at each rung.

What a proposal should name at each budget
BudgetThe proposal should nameA weak answer
OneThe business profile and the page listA list of keywords with no pages
TwoThe towns, and who writes the job notesTown pages with only the name changed
ThreeThe reader and the documents that reader needsA homeowner’s page for a project manager

A Boise, Idaho SEO company and a freelancer can both pass the test. The best Boise SEO firm for a roofer on the first budget may be the wrong one for a contractor on the third, so ask to see work at your budget.

Buyers asking for an SEO company in Boise should ask each to show a page list for their rung.

A Boise SEO agency that cannot say who writes the town pages is selling a template.

A Boise SEO company that sends the same proposal to every rung has not read your budget.

An SEO agency in Boise can show a page list just as well, and we name none.

If you searched for a digital marketing agency in Boise, search may be only one part of what you need, and our guide to a marketing agency near you covers the wider purchase. An advertising agency in Boise buys media, which is a separate job; our digital advertising agency page explains what that involves.

Moving up a rung, moving down, and paying once

Move up when the current pages are done and you have a new town or service to prove. Move down when the pages are built and only upkeep remains. We give no timeline. For the state picture, including markets outside the valley, see our page on an SEO company in Idaho.

  • Move up when the current pages are done.
  • Move up when you have a new town to prove.
  • Move down when only upkeep remains.
  • Pay once for an audit when the question is the state of the site.

Two purchases outside the ladder

Some purchases sit outside the ladder: a one-off SEO audit and an AEO or GEO retainer for a small business. Both are published US bands, shown apart from the ladder, and our answer engine optimization page covers the second.

These are published US price bands (market figures, not a Progression rate card), read in October 2026 from Ahrefs, SE Ranking, seoClarity, WebFX, MarketerHire and Nutshell.

Frequently asked questions

How much should Boise SEO cost a one-location business?
Published US bands put local SEO for one location at $500 to $3,000 a month. It buys one site, one profile and a service area. No budget here promises a ranking.
What do SEO services in Boise include at $1,000 to $5,000 a month?
The one-location work plus town pages written from real jobs, for a small firm serving several towns. A wider program and a market beyond the valley sit above that range.
What does local SEO in Boise leave out at the low end of the range?
Usually service pages beyond the most profitable ones, a content program, link outreach and any town beyond the first.
Can one budget cover Boise, Meridian and Nampa?
Depending on the pages and the jobs in each town. The ranking of any page is not promised. Start with the towns where you can prove work.
Should I build pages for Star and Kuna?
If you work there. COMPASS reports that each grew 14% in one year, which is a reason to check your jobs, not a reason to pretend to work somewhere.
Does the Micron fab work change my SEO?
Only if your firm can do that work. Micron says it plans two leading-edge fabs expected to create over 17,000 new jobs. We make no statement about how it chooses suppliers.
Do Idaho contractors have to show a registration number on advertising?
The Idaho Contractors Board’s FAQ says to display it on all advertising, contracts and more, and the FAQ does not say website. Ask the Board or counsel how it applies to your site.
How do I compare Boise SEO companies at my budget?
Ask each for the page list and for work at that budget. A firm that answers with keywords and not pages has not planned your rung.
Will a Boise SEO company guarantee a ranking?
No one can promise one, and none of the budgets on this page does.
Can a firm in New York handle Boise SEO?
Progression is based in New York, works with Boise clients remotely and offers on-site sessions on request. We claim no Boise office or staff.
Who is COMPASS, and why does this page cite it?
The Community Planning Association of Southwest Idaho. This page uses its 2026 population estimates, each attributed to it.
Does Idaho call a contractor’s number a license or a registration?
The Board’s FAQ says the Act requires registration, not licensure. Write registered unless you hold a separate license.
What happens if a contractor’s registration lapses?
The FAQ lists no building permits, no lien rights and no contract rights, plus a misdemeanor. It does not describe a particular case. Ask the Board.
Why are the three ranges overlapping?
Because the published bands overlap. The choice between budgets is a question of scope, not of price alone.
What should a roofer’s first SEO budget buy?
One site, one profile, one service area, a home page, four service pages, a service area page and a routine for reviews. That list is illustrative.
Does each valley town I work in need a page of its own?
Only if you have something true to say about it, such as photos and notes from jobs there. A page with only the name swapped does not count.
What does a project manager look for on a trade firm’s site?
A scope of work, crews, equipment, a registration number and a way to request an insurance certificate. That list is illustrative.
When should I move to the next budget?
When the current pages are done and you have a new town or service to prove. We give no timeline.
What can I buy outside the ladder?
A one-off SEO audit, published at $1,000 to $10,000, and an AEO or GEO retainer for a small business, $1,500 to $8,000 a month.
Besides the monthly figure, what should a Boise budget request list?
