AI SEO Agency Miami: The Hardest Term and the Most AI-Rebranded Field

Updated September 2026 · Written and maintained by the Progression Agency strategy team

We measured the Miami SERP in September 2026. It carries the highest SEO difficulty of the twelve cities we checked, and all three local pack entries are businesses that put the category in their names.

The short answerMiami is the hardest market in our twelve-city study. ‘seo agency miami’ measures 1,900 monthly searches at $17.00 a click on an SEO difficulty of 43, the only city above 42 — and the demand is only joint third, so it asks more work than anywhere else and returns no more traffic. A local agency at domain authority 36 outranks both the national incumbent and the Semrush directory, and the three local pack businesses are named AI MEGA SEO, AI CodingX and Miami AI Agency. They committed to a category that measures zero searches. An AI Overview sits above all of it.

Every figure on this page was pulled from the Ubersuggest API, US location, on 17 September 2026 and carries that date. Miami was briefly excluded from this research because the API returned an empty result set; retrying returned full data, and every city was re-pulled before publication.

Miami is the hardest of the twelve terms we measured

SEO difficulty 43, on demand that half a dozen other cities also carry.

The numbers, first

‘seo agency miami’ measured 1,900 monthly searches in September 2026 at a $17.00 cost per click and an SEO difficulty of 43. Los Angeles, Philadelphia and Dallas tie at 41; Chicago is the easiest at 32. Miami is the only city in the study above 42.

And the demand is not exceptional

1,900 searches a month is joint third with Phoenix, behind Austin at 4,400 and Los Angeles at 2,400. So Miami asks for more work than any other city in this study and does not offer more traffic in return. That is worth knowing before a budget is set rather than after.

What makes it hard is the field, not the volume

A local agency, egochi.com at domain authority 36, holds organic position two — above both coalitiontechnologies and thriveagency, and above the Semrush directory at 86. Very few cities in this study have a local firm outranking the national incumbent. Miami does.

Every business in the Miami local pack has renamed around AI

AI MEGA SEO, AI CodingX, and Miami AI Agency hold positions four, five and six.

The category is in their registered names

Not in a tagline or a service page — in the business name itself. ‘Miami AI Agency’ is the city plus the category and nothing else. These are the names that appear in Google Business Profile, on the map, and in the pack entry a searcher actually reads.

They did it before the demand arrived

‘ai seo agency miami’ measures zero monthly searches. Three businesses have committed their legal identity to a term with no measurable volume. That is a bet on where demand goes, made by people operating in this market daily, and it is a data point about positioning rather than about search.

We would not tell an established business to do the same

A name change trades recognition you already have for a keyword match you might not need. What is worth taking from this is the direction, not the tactic: the Miami field has decided this category is real, and is competing on it now. The cheap version of that decision is a page and a profile, not a rebrand.

What is worth taking from this is the direction, not the tactic: the Miami field has decided this category is real, and is competing on it now.

An AI Overview sits above all of it

Miami is one of six cities in our twelve where the first thing returned is a generated answer.

Which changes what you are competing for

Position one here is not a website. It is an answer assembled from sources, and those sources are chosen for being specific and extractable rather than for holding a high rank. On the hardest term in the study, that matters more than usual — being a source is reachable in a way that outranking egochi.com at DA 36 may not be.

So answer-first editing is the first content work

Take the pages you already have, make the first two sentences under each heading answer that heading, and rewrite the headings as the questions people actually type. It costs an afternoon and the rules are in our content writing guide.

Overview presence is not stable, though

Austin, Los Angeles, Miami, Boston, Philadelphia and Atlanta served one when we measured; Chicago, Dallas, Phoenix, Houston, Denver and Seattle did not. A market that serves one today may not in six months, which is why every figure on this page carries its date.

We wrongly excluded Miami from this research, and this page exists because we checked

Worth saying plainly, because it is the reason to trust the numbers that follow.

The API returned no SERP data, and we believed it

An earlier round of this research recorded Miami, Boston and Denver as having no stored result set for the AI-modified query, and concluded the term had not arrived in those markets. Three city pages were dropped on that basis, and the remaining pages said so in print.

Retrying returned a full result set for all three

Philadelphia and Atlanta produced the same empty response once each and then returned complete data on an immediate retry. The empty response was transient. Miami has fourteen measured results, an AI Overview and the hardest term in the study — the opposite of a thin market.

The lesson is one we would give a client

An absence of data is not evidence of absence, and a single query returning nothing is not a finding. We re-ran every city before publishing any of them, and the corrected dataset is in the tables below.

An absence of data is not evidence of absence, and a single query returning nothing is not a finding.

What we would do for a Miami business, in order

Access, editing, profile, page, roundups.

Access and rendering, because nothing works without them

Confirm AI crawlers can reach the site and that content exists without JavaScript. Our robots.txt checker and JavaScript SEO checker both run in your browser and cost nothing. Assistants and crawlers read text; a page that renders only in a browser is invisible to both.

Answer-first rewriting on pages that already get impressions

Second, because an AI Overview sits above every result on this query, and on the hardest term in the study the cheap work is disproportionately valuable.

The Business Profile, completed properly

The pack holds positions four to six, above the national agency at seven. Complete the profile, pick categories that match what people type, and collect reviews with descriptive text rather than bare stars.

Then one Miami page, then the two roundups

The page is written against egochi.com at domain authority 36, not against kiaora.digital at 10. Then digitalagencynetwork’s ‘Top AI Marketing Agencies in Miami’ at DA 53 and koretechx’s ‘7 Best Miami SEO Companies’ at 18 — both reachable with an email carrying checkable evidence.

What we will not claim about Miami

Three statements that would help us and would not be true.

That we rank here

We do not appear anywhere in this result set. Progression is domain authority 4 and based in Sunnyside, New York. The tables below measure other people’s positions.

That Miami is an easy opening

It is the hardest term of the twelve we measured, with a local agency outranking the national incumbent and three pack entries that have renamed around the category. Anyone describing this market as wide open has not pulled the result set.

That we can place you in the AI Overview

Nobody can promise that. What can be done is the work that makes a page a plausible source, and a monthly record of what the assistants actually said, recorded verbatim with dates.

What can be done is the work that makes a page a plausible source, and a monthly record of what the assistants actually said, recorded verbatim with dates.

One national agency holds the top of most city SERPs, and Miami pushed it down

The clearest finding in the twelve-city measurement, and Miami is the exception worth noting.

thriveagency.com appears in nine of the twelve cities

Position one in Chicago, Phoenix, Philadelphia and Atlanta. Position three in Dallas, four in Austin and Houston, seven in Los Angeles and seven here. Absent in Seattle, Boston and Denver. One national agency at domain authority 49 has systematically taken the city terms.

agencies.semrush.com sits at two to six in ten of twelve

A directory at domain authority 86. In Miami it is at eight — below the local pack, below a domain authority 36 local agency, and below the national incumbent. That is unusually low for it.

Which is what a mature local field looks like

Both of the domains that dominate everywhere else are pushed below position six here. Not because they got weaker, but because Miami agencies built pages and profiles that answer the query better. That is the same thing we are recommending, done by other people first.

The measured data, in full

Everything above comes from these tables. They were pulled on 17 September 2026 and carry that date so you can judge how stale they are when you read this.

AI, AEO and what is changing

SEO difficulty across the twelve cities we measured
Miami is the hardest term of the twelve, and it is hard on volume that half a dozen other cities also carry. That combination is the reason to be careful about what you promise here.
Every business in the Miami local pack has renamed around AI
Three businesses have put the category in their legal name for a term with zero measured search volume. That is a bet on where the demand goes, made by people who are closer to this market than we are.
What the Miami result set is actually made of
Five yeses and three noes. The last one matters: Miami is not an easy market, and the pages saying otherwise about it are not measuring it.
Miami and Boston sit at opposite ends of the same question
Both have an AI Overview and a local field that has already positioned around the category. Miami is twice the market and twice as hard to enter.
What we would do for a Miami business
The order is conventional here because Miami is a conventional hard market with an Overview on top. The unusual thing about it is the field, not the plan.
Where the twelve cities sit on demand against difficulty
Miami sits at the top of the chart on mid-table demand. Austin has more than twice the searches and is three points easier.
Miami, in numbers
Hard term, sophisticated local field, and still a domain authority 10 site inside the top ten. Both halves of that are true at once.

Frequently asked questions

How competitive is SEO in Miami?
‘seo agency miami’ measured an SEO difficulty of 43 in September 2026 — the hardest of the twelve cities we measured. Los Angeles, Philadelphia and Dallas tie at 41, and Chicago is easiest at 32.
How much demand is there?
1,900 monthly searches at a $17.00 cost per click, joint third with Phoenix. Austin carries 4,400 and Los Angeles 2,400, so Miami asks more work than any other city in the study and does not offer more traffic in return.
Does ‘ai seo agency miami’ get any searches?
No. It measured zero, with an SEO difficulty of 5. The demand is entirely on the established term at this point.
Why are all three local pack businesses named around AI?
AI MEGA SEO, AI CodingX and Miami AI Agency hold positions four to six, with the category in their registered business names. They committed to a term with zero measured volume, which is a bet on where demand goes made by people operating in this market daily.
Should I rename my business to include AI?
We would not advise it. A name change trades recognition you already have for a keyword match you may not need. The direction those firms are betting on is worth taking seriously; the tactic is not the cheap way to act on it.
Who ranks first in Miami?
An AI Overview, then egochi.com at domain authority 36 with /miami-seo/. A local agency outranking both the national incumbent and the Semrush directory is unusual across the twelve cities.
Is there an AI Overview on this query in Miami?
Yes. Austin, Los Angeles, Miami, Boston, Philadelphia and Atlanta all served one when we measured; Chicago, Dallas, Phoenix, Houston, Denver and Seattle did not.
What should a Miami business do first?
Confirm crawler access and rendering, then rewrite existing pages so each heading is answered in its first two sentences. On the hardest term in the study, the cheap work is disproportionately valuable.
Where is the national agency in Miami?
thriveagency.com is at position seven, pushed below the local pack and below a domain authority 36 local agency. It holds position one in four of the twelve cities, so being at seven here says something about how well the Miami field has built.
Which Miami roundups are worth approaching?
digitalagencynetwork.com’s ‘Top AI Marketing Agencies in Miami’ at domain authority 53, position twelve, and koretechx.com’s ‘7 Best Miami SEO Companies’ at 18, position seventeen. Both are reachable with an email carrying checkable evidence.
Is there still an opening in Miami?
Yes, though a narrower one than elsewhere. kiaora.digital at domain authority 10 holds position ten and helloupdigital at 15 holds nine. Low-authority sites are inside the top ten, which is true in every city we measured.
Why did you nearly not publish a Miami page?
Because the API returned no SERP data for the AI-modified query and we took that at face value, excluding Miami, Boston and Denver. Retrying returned full result sets for all three — the empty response was transient. We re-ran every city before publishing any of them.
Does that affect the other city pages?
It did, and they were corrected before publication. Several said in print that three cities had no measurable SERP. That claim is wrong and has been removed.
Does zero volume mean nobody searches the AI term?
It means below the tool’s measurement floor. Treat it as too small to measure rather than nonexistent, and treat any specific figure quoted for it as invented.
Does Progression rank for these Miami terms?
No. We appear nowhere in this result set. The tables measure other people’s positions and are published because they are useful.
Can you get me into the AI Overview?
No, and nobody can promise that honestly. What can be done is the work that makes a page a plausible source and an accurate monthly record of what the assistants said.
How does Miami compare with Boston?
Both serve an AI Overview and both have local fields that positioned around the category early. Miami is roughly twice the market and, at difficulty 43 against 38, considerably harder to enter.
What is the single most useful finding across all twelve cities?
That thriveagency.com, one national agency at domain authority 49, holds a top-seven position in nine of the twelve and position one in four. A city page is usually competing with a national agency and a directory rather than with a local rival — except in Miami, Boston, Denver and Seattle.
Is a city page enough on its own?
No. It is one page on one query. Access, rendering, answer-first structure across the site and the Business Profile all sit around it.
How often should this be re-measured?
Quarterly. AI Overview presence in particular is unstable, and the AI-modified field is changing fastest of all.
Do you work with businesses outside New York?
Yes. We are based in Sunnyside, New York, and the search work is not geographically constrained. The Business Profile work is the part that depends on where your customers are.
Where did these numbers come from?
The Ubersuggest API, US location, pulled on 17 September 2026. The full twelve-city dataset is in the tables above.
