AI SEO Agency Dallas: The Market You Win by Being on Other People’s Lists

Updated September 2026 · Written and maintained by the Progression Agency strategy team

We measured the Dallas SERP in September 2026. Five of the top fourteen results are roundups rather than agency sites, and the highest-placed AI-specific page in the whole study is one of them.

The short answerDallas is the roundup market. ‘seo agency dallas’ measures 1,000 monthly searches at $56.07 a click — second highest of the twelve cities — on an SEO difficulty of 41, joint hardest. What makes it distinctive is the composition: five of the top fourteen results are lists of agencies, including a domain authority 16 listicle at position four and a LinkedIn Pulse post at nine. You cannot outrank LinkedIn; you can be the eighth name in its list. So outreach comes first here, the Business Profile second, and your own page third. ‘ai seo agency dallas’ measures zero searches.

Every figure on this page was pulled from the Ubersuggest API, US location, on 17 September 2026 and carries that date. An earlier unpublished draft of this page carried positions and URLs that were not in the measured data; re-pulling the SERP corrected them and the page was rebuilt.

Dallas is won by being named in other people’s lists

Five of the top fourteen results are roundups rather than agency sites.

The lists, in position order

Position three is thriveagency.com’s ’11 Best Dallas SEO Companies’. Position four is qoulomb.com’s ‘Top AI SEO Agencies In Dallas For Lead Generation’. Position nine is a LinkedIn Pulse post, ’12 Best AI SEO Companies in Dallas (2026)’. Position twelve is OuterBox’s Dallas rankings. Position fourteen is Digital Agency Network’s ‘Top AI Marketing Agencies in Dallas’.

That is five separate pages that can name you

Each one appears on page one or just below it, and each one is a page you could be listed on without ranking anything of your own. Against a domain authority 99 LinkedIn post, being the eighth name in the list is the only realistic way onto that screen.

And the highest-placed AI-specific page in the study is one of them

qoulomb.com at domain authority 16 holds position four. The same domain holds position eight in Chicago with a very similar page. The difference is not the site — it is that Dallas rewards the list format more strongly.

We got this SERP wrong in an earlier draft, and re-measured it

Worth saying plainly, because it is the reason to trust the numbers that follow.

The first version put qoulomb at position eight with an invented URL

It also described four directories holding the top six positions and listed several Dallas agencies that do not appear in the result set at all. Re-pulling on 17 September 2026 showed coalitiontechnologies.com at position one, a local pack at five to seven, and qoulomb at position four with a roundup rather than a service page.

It was never published

The correction happened before the page went live. We are describing it because a page that publishes other people’s measurements should be willing to say when its own were wrong.

Every figure here now comes from one dated pull

17 September 2026, Ubersuggest API, US location. The full result set for all twelve cities is in the tables below, including the positions we are not flattered by.

How to be added to a roundup without paying for it

The distinction matters, because paid inclusion reads as bought to everyone including readers.

Send evidence, not a pitch

The person maintaining a ‘best agencies in Dallas’ list is looking for entries they can justify. What helps them is a short note with a specific, checkable claim — a named client sector, a measurable outcome, a public piece of work — rather than a paragraph of adjectives. A list owner who cannot verify you will not add you.

Approach the reachable four, not all five

qoulomb at DA 16, OuterBox at 47, Digital Agency Network at 53 and the LinkedIn Pulse author are all independent. Thrive’s list is a competitor’s own marketing asset and pitching it is a waste of an email.

And decline paid placement

Several agency directories sell positions in their rankings. We would not buy one, and not for a purity reason: a list where the order is sold is a list the reader learns to discount, and being third in a discounted list is worth less than being eighth in a credible one.

The map pack holds positions five to seven, and one entry is out of town

A detail worth knowing before you assume the pack is locked.

dallasaicompany.com and thedallasseocompany.com hold five and six

Both are exact-match Dallas business names. That is not an accident — a business name containing the city and the service is a well-known advantage in local results, and it is also not something we would tell an established business to change its name over.

Position seven is 3iseo.com, whose page is about Los Angeles

The URL is /seo-los-angeles/. A Los Angeles page appearing in a Dallas local pack tells you the pack in this market is not tightly filled, and the same domain also appears in the Los Angeles pack. Where a pack has room for an out-of-town entrant, a properly completed local profile is worth more than usual.

So the profile is second, not first

First is access and rendering, second is outreach to the roundups, and the profile is third. That ordering is specific to Dallas: in Phoenix and Houston the pack sits at positions one to three and the profile would come first.

First is access and rendering, second is outreach to the roundups, and the profile is third.

What we would do for a Dallas business, in order

Access, outreach, profile, page, editing.

Access and rendering, because nothing works without them

Confirm AI crawlers can reach the site and that content exists without JavaScript. Our robots.txt checker and JavaScript SEO checker both run in your browser and cost nothing. Assistants and crawlers read text; a page that renders only in a browser is invisible to both.

Outreach to the four reachable roundups

This is week one in Dallas and it would be week three almost anywhere else. Five of the top fourteen positions are lists, and four of them are independent.

The Business Profile, completed properly

Three pack slots at positions five to seven, one of them currently held by an out-of-town site. Complete the profile, pick categories that match what people type, and collect reviews with descriptive text rather than bare stars.

One Dallas page, written to be quotable

In a roundup market the page has a second job beyond ranking: it is what a list owner reads when deciding whether to include you. That means specifics they can lift — what you do, for whom, with what result — near the top rather than buried.

What we will not claim about Dallas

Three statements that would help us and would not be true.

That we rank here

We do not appear anywhere in this result set. Progression is domain authority 4 and based in Sunnyside, New York. The tables below measure other people’s positions.

That $56.07 is revenue you will capture

It is a paid-search figure showing what advertisers believe a Dallas client is worth. That is useful for deciding how much visibility is worth spending on. It is not a projection of what you will earn.

That we can get you into any specific list

We can write the note and send the evidence. Whether a list owner adds you is their decision, and anyone who promises you a placement is either buying it or guessing.

Whether a list owner adds you is their decision, and anyone who promises you a placement is either buying it or guessing.

One national agency holds the top of nearly every city SERP

The clearest finding in the twelve-city measurement, and it is not about Dallas.

thriveagency.com appears in nine of the twelve cities

Position one in Chicago, Phoenix, Philadelphia and Atlanta. Position three here, four in Austin and Houston, seven in Los Angeles. Absent in Seattle, Boston and Denver. One national agency, at domain authority 49, has systematically taken the city terms across the country — and in Dallas it did it with a roundup rather than a service page.

agencies.semrush.com sits at two to six in ten of twelve

A directory at domain authority 86, consistently just below or just above the national agency. Between them, those two domains occupy a top-five position in every city we measured except Seattle.

Which tells you what a Dallas page is competing with

Not a local rival. A national agency’s roundup, a directory listing, and three more lists. That is the argument for treating outreach as the first move here rather than the last.

AI, AEO and what is changing

How many of the top fourteen results are other people's lists
Dallas is the roundup market. Five of the top fourteen positions are lists of agencies rather than agency sites, which changes where the cheapest visibility is.
What being in a list is actually worth here
You cannot outrank LinkedIn at domain authority 99. You can be the eighth name in its list, and that appears on the same screen.
Which Dallas roundups are actually reachable
Four yeses and four noes. Thrive’s list is a competitor’s marketing asset, and paid inclusion in a ‘best of’ list is the kind of thing that reads as bought to everyone including the reader.
Dallas and Chicago are both high-CPC markets that behave differently
Chicago’s AI-specific pages sit at seven and eight on DA 12 and 16. Dallas has one at position four. It is the same domain authority, four positions higher, because it is framed as a list.
What we would do for a Dallas business
Outreach first is unusual and it is what the data says. In a market where five of fourteen positions are lists, the cheapest route onto page one is being in them.
Where the twelve cities sit on roundup share against difficulty
Dallas is the far corner: hardest to rank in and most dominated by lists. Those two facts point at the same tactic.
Dallas, in numbers
The last two numbers are the plan. A DA-16 page reached position four by being a list, in a market where a DA-41 agency page holds position one.

Frequently asked questions

What is different about the Dallas SERP?
Five of the top fourteen results are roundups rather than agency websites — Thrive’s ’11 Best Dallas SEO Companies’ at three, a ‘Top AI SEO Agencies In Dallas’ listicle at four, a LinkedIn Pulse post at nine, OuterBox’s rankings at twelve and Digital Agency Network at fourteen.
So what should a Dallas business do first?
After confirming crawler access, approach the reachable roundups. In a market where five of fourteen positions are lists, being named in them is the cheapest route onto page one.
Which Dallas roundups are reachable?
qoulomb.com at DA 16, OuterBox at 47, Digital Agency Network at 53 and the LinkedIn Pulse author. Thrive’s list is a competitor’s own marketing asset, so pitching it is a waste of an email.
How do I get added to one?
Send a short note with a specific, checkable claim — a named client sector, a measurable outcome, a public piece of work — rather than adjectives. A list owner who cannot verify you will not add you.
Should I pay for a placement in a rankings list?
We would not. A list where the order is sold is a list readers learn to discount, and being third in a discounted list is worth less than being eighth in a credible one.
What does a Dallas SEO click cost?
$56.07, the second highest of the twelve cities we measured. Only Chicago, at $68.44, is higher.
How hard is the Dallas term?
SEO difficulty 41 on 1,000 monthly searches — joint highest of the twelve cities, alongside Los Angeles and Philadelphia.
Does ‘ai seo agency dallas’ get any searches?
No. It measured zero, with an SEO difficulty of 6. The demand is entirely on the established term at this point.
Who holds the AI-specific position in Dallas?
qoulomb.com at domain authority 16, at position four with a roundup. That is the highest position any AI-specific page holds in the twelve cities other than Seattle and Los Angeles, and it got there by being framed as a list.
Who ranks first in Dallas?
coalitiontechnologies.com at domain authority 41 with /dallas-tx-seo. It is one of only two cities in our study where the position-one result is neither a national agency roundup nor a directory.
Where is the local pack in Dallas?
Positions five to seven — dallasaicompany.com, thedallasseocompany.com and 3iseo.com. The third of those is a Los Angeles page, which tells you the pack is not tightly filled.
Does an exact-match business name help?
It appears to. Two of the three pack entries contain both the city and the service in the business name. That is a known advantage in local results, and not a reason for an established business to rename itself.
Is there an AI Overview on this query in Dallas?
No. Austin, Los Angeles, Miami, Boston, Philadelphia and Atlanta served one when we measured; Dallas, Chicago, Phoenix, Houston, Denver and Seattle did not.
Why does a Detroit newspaper rank for a Dallas query?
Position seventeen is a syndicated press release on detroitnews.com at domain authority 88. Press-release syndication puts high-authority pages on local queries; it is worth knowing about and it is not something we would recommend buying.
Does Progression rank for these Dallas terms?
No. We appear nowhere in this result set. The tables measure other people’s positions and are published because they are useful.
What is the single most useful finding across all twelve cities?
That thriveagency.com, one national agency at domain authority 49, holds a top-four position in seven of the twelve and position one in four. A city page is usually competing with a national agency and a directory rather than with a local rival.
Does zero volume mean nobody searches the AI term?
It means below the tool’s measurement floor. Treat it as too small to measure rather than nonexistent, and treat any specific figure quoted for it as invented.
How does Dallas compare with Chicago?
Both are high-value markets, and they behave differently. Chicago is difficulty 32 with its AI-specific pages down at seven and eight. Dallas is difficulty 41 with an AI-specific page at position four — same authority, higher position, because Dallas rewards the list format.
Is a city page enough on its own?
No. It is one page on one query, and in Dallas it is not even the first move. Outreach, the Business Profile, access and rendering all sit around it.
How often should this be re-measured?
Quarterly. Roundup composition changes when someone publishes a new list, cost per click moves with the ad market, and the AI-modified field is changing fastest of all.
Do you work with businesses outside New York?
Yes. We are based in Sunnyside, New York, and the search work is not geographically constrained. The Business Profile work is the part that depends on where your customers are.
Where did these numbers come from?
The Ubersuggest API, US location, pulled on 17 September 2026. The full twelve-city dataset is in the tables above.
