Design experience
Framer’s canvas behaves like Figma: draw, stack, add effects, publish. Designers move quickly and the results look polished with little effort. Webflow requires thinking in HTML boxes and CSS classes, which is slower to learn but produces reusable systems, cleaner code and more predictable behavior on large sites.
Animation and interactions
Framer’s built-in effects, appear animations and scroll transforms are the easiest in the category. Webflow’s Interactions are more powerful (multi-step, triggers, Lottie, GSAP via custom code) but take more setup. For most marketing pages Framer gets there faster; for complex sequences Webflow goes further.
CMS and content
Webflow’s CMS supports references between collections, richer field types and more designable collection pages, which matters for resource libraries, case studies with related items and large blogs. Framer’s CMS handles blogs, changelogs and simple listings well and keeps improving, but Webflow remains the choice for structured content.
SEO and performance
Both output fast, hosted sites with editable metadata, sitemaps, redirects and clean URLs. Webflow offers more granular control (per-page code, schema, canonical handling) suited to larger sites. Performance is close; both typically score well on Core Web Vitals.
Integrations and code
Framer’s code components let developers drop React components into pages, which is unusual and powerful for product teams. Webflow relies on custom code embeds, apps and services such as Memberstack and Zapier; its ecosystem of templates, freelancers and agencies is larger.
Pricing and portability
